Experiment 3: The Articles

Zhang Yin
http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/bizchina/2006-10/13/content_707587.htm

"Zhang, the 49-year-old founder and chairwoman of the paper company, was reported to be the mainland's richest person with a fortune of 27 billion yuan (3.4 billion U.S. dollars)."

"Zhang is believed to be the wealthiest self-made woman in the world. According to Rupert Hoogewerf, who set up the Huran Report in 1999 which lists wealthy people in China. She is richer than the U.S. television host Oprah Winfrey and author of the Harry Potter series JK Rowling."

"However, her low profile has helped her remain largely unknown over the past years."

Ratan Tata
http://www.rediff.com/money/2005/jul/26tata.htm

"And next year, it will be 15 years since Tata, who is low profile almost to the point of reclusiveness, was made chairman, when his legendary predecessor J R D stepped aside in 1991."

"The Tata group is going global with a vengeance and acquiring businesses as if there's no tomorrow -- half its 14 acquisitions were in the past year."

Carlos Slim Helu

http://yalibnan.com/site/archives/2007/07/worlds_richest.php

"Sentido Comun said the Mexican billionaire's wealth had rocketed past Gates following the red-hot performance of his telecommunications firm, America Movil."

"reason for Slim's meteoric rise might be because he is also still working."

"Despite his vast riches, Slim reportedly shuns corporate jets and flashy offices and sported a plastic watch during the 1990s."

"Like Gates, he has developed a strong profile on the philanthropic front."

Final Submission: Original Quotes

Stephen Hawkings:“I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. We've created life in our own image.”

Charles Darwin: "An American monkey, after getting drunk on brandy, would never touch it again, and thus is much wiser than most men."

Electroliquid Aggregation

"It says something about mankind that we don't learn from our mistakes. We think we are god, each man better than the next. Yet the only organism we have suceeded in creating (if you may call a virus an organism) is destructive, just like ourselves."

Final Submission: Hawkings

The room channels its occupants into the far corner, through a sloping roof, narrowing space and a pool of light. We enter the space moving from the large into the small, emerging again into the large. Just like Hawkings examination of space where he examines the small nuances in order to understand the larger picture.

In his quote Hawkings talked of man as a creator and as a destroyer. The green shafts of light onto the wall invoke a primative vicious image of man furtherd through the use of red light. We see a merging of colour as man attempts to dominate nature.

Final Submission: Meeting Place

The space draws in the occupant from the outside bringing them up an into Hawkings space. The red of the exterior spills in mixing with the green of the interior, whilst an upward sloping and narrowing ramp creates movement towards Hawkings space, of which a small portion is framed through the doorway.

Final Submission: Darwin

Charles Darwin is renowned for his brutalist view on evolution. This structure demonstrates this through the mergence of red and green. His quote speaks negatively of mans inability to learn from its mistakes and this building represents how man has placed itself above nature.

Model Version 2

Hawkings: We enter space from moving from the large into the small thus emerging into the large- similar to hawkings examination of the universe: by examining a great space in smaller detail we can come to an understanding on how we view the greater picture.

Model Version 2

Meeting Area: Space between two areas... ramp goes up and narrows into uppers internal space, whilst through door external space is framed

Model Version 2

Darwin- Brutal idea of survival of the fittest, negative space: derive from negative view on humanity that we never learn from our mistakes

Electroliquid Aggregation
