Final Submission: Conceptual Images
The architecture of the Slim's and Yin's offices is very permanent. This is contrasted by the meeting place which is a space of the moment. It is created only when required and then disappears when no longer used.
The design of this space mirrors its temporary nature. It is a simple construction that is formed from parts of the surrounding architecture. The long wooden sticks enclose the floor as the two powerful figures can dine in the sky, looking down upon what they own.
Zhang Yin's office is a space that floats above. You enter the room on equal level with the platform yet you are forced to descend into a pit of light that radiates upwards upon Zhang Yin.
The article on Zhang Yin spoke of her relative obscurity that is due to the low profile she keeps. This is reflected in the room leading into her office. It is a maze of shapes and obstructions behind which Yin can operate without fear of distraction.
Final Submission: Zhang Yin
The tunnel leading into the room narrows both horizontally and vertically. It draws you in yet the room into which you enter obscures all view of your destination.
Emerging from the clutter of the entry hall the bright light of Yin's office spills into the end of the room beckoning you into her office.
Entering Yin's office her humble origins are demonstrated as you are placed on the same level as her. Yet the power and wealth she has accumulated over life is reinforced as you must first descend far below her platform before you can reach her.
Final Submission: Meeting Place
The meeting space brings together the worlds richest man and woman. It is based around an idea of synergy which can be seen in the table (see table posts) and its impermanence. The platform allows these two philanthropists to come together and work together to achieve more than what they could if they worked alone.
Final Submisssion: Carlos Slim
The description of Slim in the article portrays him as a man that reportedly shuns corporate jets and flashy offices This is mirrored in his office space which is a brutal monument of power. The building is like an iceberg- when viewed from above all that can be seen is a flat grey surface, much like Slim who gives off no impression of his personal power.
The article also gave the impression that Slim despite being the world's wealthiest man, is someone who avoids the spotlight. As such and as a testament to his power his office is situated at the very bottom of the tall structure.
Slim's power is established through the series of ramps that wind down around a central elevator shaft. Anyone wishing to visit Slim must descend a never ending series of levels to reach his office. Whereas only Slim has access to the elevator that runs up the center of the building.
His actual office is a simple open space that allows him to work away from the spotlight. To maximize efficiency his desk is also his elevator allowing him to work as he travels.

Walk through of path of Zhang Yin's Elevator
Yin's elevator moves directly from her office to the meeting space. It is on her summons that the meeting space creates itself, ready by the time her elevator arrives.
Walk Through of path of Carlos Slims Elevator
Slim's elevator also doubles as his desk. It is composed of two parts which seperate mid flight. His desk stops at the meeting space whilst chairs continue up to Zin's space so that he may send someone to fetch her.

"Zhang, the 49-year-old founder and chairwoman of the paper company, was reported to be the mainland's richest person with a fortune of 27 billion yuan (3.4 billion U.S. dollars)."
"Zhang is believed to be the wealthiest self-made woman in the world. According to Rupert Hoogewerf, who set up the Huran Report in 1999 which lists wealthy people in China. She is richer than the U.S. television host Oprah Winfrey and author of the Harry Potter series JK Rowling."
"However, her low profile has helped her remain largely unknown over the past years."
Carlos Slim Helu

"Sentido Comun said the Mexican billionaire's wealth had rocketed past Gates following the red-hot performance of his telecommunications firm, America Movil."
"reason for Slim's meteoric rise might be because he is also still working."
"Despite his vast riches, Slim reportedly shuns corporate jets and flashy offices and sported a plastic watch during the 1990s."
"Like Gates, he has developed a strong profile on the philanthropic front."
Ratan Tata

"And next year, it will be 15 years since Tata, who is low profile almost to the point of reclusiveness, was made chairman, when his legendary predecessor J R D stepped aside in 1991."
"The Tata group is going global with a vengeance and acquiring businesses as if there's no tomorrow -- half its 14 acquisitions were in the past year."

Table End Product
Table- Synergy
The table is based upon the idea of synergy
which can be defined as:
The simultaneous joint action of separate parties which, together, have greater total effect than the sum of their individual effects.
From Greek “to work together”. The attainment
This idea is derived from the belief that if we can work together we can acheive far more than what we could if we work alone. The structure houses the world's richest man and woman, each of whom is a philanthropist and can acheive countless things alone. But if they work together the possibilities are limitless...
Inspiration for the tables appearance has come from a number of sources:
from the lowely cafeteria table which works to bring people together and stimulate conversation through its round design, where no person is in a position of more importance than the other (idea shown in King Arthurs round table) This is a necesary importance in the design of a table for two very powerful individuals, neither of whom would like to be seen to be in a lesser position than the other.
The word synergy suggests that two objects are joined like this table, as two forms become one.
